What Is Service Pilot?

Service Pilot is a communication and revenue recovery platform used by participating home service businesses, including:

  • Plumbing companies

  • HVAC contractors

  • Electrical contractors

  • Roofing companies

  • Garage door companies

  • Cleaning companies

  • Other home service providers

Service Pilot helps businesses respond to customer inquiries more quickly, particularly when calls are missed or follow-up communication is needed.

Why Is the Message Coming From a Different Phone Number?

Service Pilot helps participating home service businesses respond to missed customer calls.

When a customer calls a participating business and the call is missed or unanswered, Service Pilot may send an initial SMS message on the business's behalf using a Service Pilot-managed phone number.

As a result, the phone number sending the message may be different from the phone number you originally called.

When this occurs:

  • The message will identify the business you attempted to contact.

  • The message will explain that Service Pilot is assisting the business with responding to your missed call.

  • The message will be directly related to your recent call and service inquiry.

  • The message may ask you to confirm that you would like assistance regarding your request before additional communication takes place.

The purpose of the message is to help reconnect you with the business you contacted after your call was missed.

Example

Hi, this is Service Pilot assisting ABC Plumbing. We noticed your recent call may not have been answered. This message is being sent from a Service Pilot phone number on behalf of ABC Plumbing. Reply YES if you'd like to proceed with assistance regarding your plumbing request. Reply STOP to opt out.

Once you reply affirmatively, Service Pilot may continue facilitating communications related to your original service request on behalf of the participating business.

Types Of Messages You May Receive

Messages facilitated by Service Pilot may include:

Missed Call Follow-Up

If a business misses your call, a follow-up message may be sent to continue the conversation.

Appointment Scheduling

Messages related to scheduling or coordinating service appointments.

Appointment Confirmations

Confirmation of scheduled service visits.

Customer Support Communications

Responses to service-related questions and inquiries.

Service Coordination

Communication regarding estimates, service requests, or scheduling availability.

Service Pilot does not use these communications to send unrelated promotional content regarding services you did not request.

How Consent Works

Service Pilot only facilitates communications related to a customer's recent interaction with a participating home service business.

A customer may receive an initial SMS message from Service Pilot only when:

  • The customer places a phone call to a participating home service business;

  • The call is missed, unanswered, or otherwise not connected to a representative of the business; and

  • The follow-up communication is directly related to the customer's recent call and service inquiry.

The initial message will identify the participating business and explain that the message is being sent from a Service Pilot-managed phone number on the business's behalf.

The customer may then be asked to confirm that they would like assistance regarding the reason for their call by replying with a response such as "YES."

By replying affirmatively, the customer confirms their desire to continue the conversation regarding their inquiry and authorizes further SMS communications related to that service request.

Service Pilot does not send marketing campaigns, promotional offers, or unsolicited messages to consumers. Communications are limited to responding to missed calls and assisting with matters directly related to the customer's original service inquiry.

Participating businesses are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any permissions, disclosures, and customer consents required by applicable laws and regulations regarding customer communications.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the nature of your interaction with the business.

Some customers may receive only one message, while others may receive additional messages related to scheduling or customer service.

Message And Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply.

Charges are determined by your wireless carrier and service plan.

Opting Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS communications at any time.

Reply STOP

After opting out, you may receive a final confirmation message confirming your request.
